Privacy
Packman is a catalog. You can browse all of it without telling us who you are, and the only time we ask for anything is when you want us to pass a request to a supplier.

Who we are
Packman is the controller for the data described here. The registered company name will be added once it exists. A postal address will be added with it. You can reach us about anything on this page at privacy@packman.example.
Browsing
Nothing is required to search, filter or read. There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking on these pages, and no social or video embeds, so your browser is not asked to contact anyone but us. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than from a font provider.
The site is served by Cloudflare, which sees your IP address when it delivers each page, as any web host does, and uses it to keep the site running and to stop abuse. We do not keep request logs of our own and do not use your address to build a profile of you.
Cookies
One, and it is not for tracking.
packman_shortlist- Holds the listing numbers you shortlisted and nothing else, so the shortlist survives a page load without you creating an account. It expires after 30 days, or when you clear the shortlist or send a request.
It is strictly necessary for something you asked for, so there is no consent banner to dismiss. Clearing cookies in your browser removes it.
When you ask for a quote, a sample or advice
This is the one place we collect your details, and only what the form asks for: your name, your company, your email address, your country, an optional phone number, how much you need, and what you wrote. The shortlisted listings are attached to the request, which is how we know which suppliers it concerns.
We also store a one-way hash of your IP address with the request. It cannot be turned back into the address, and it is only used to stop one address sending more than a few requests an hour.
We email that request to each supplier whose listing you shortlisted, with your address as the reply-to, because the point is that they answer you directly. Each supplier is told only about their own listings, never about the others you were comparing them with. You get a copy naming who it went to. Where a supplier has no address on file, the request waits with us until one of us can forward it.
We do this to carry out what you asked for. After that, the supplier has your details and handles them under their own privacy notice, which we do not control.
Leaving for a supplier
Outbound links to suppliers go through a counter on our side, so we can see which listings get real interest. It records the listing, the supplier and the path of the page you left from, with the query string dropped, so what you searched for is not part of it. It does not record an identifier for you, your IP address or anything that would let those clicks be tied together into one person’s trail.
Who else sees it
The suppliers you chose to contact, as described above. Beyond them, only the services it takes to run the site: Cloudflare, which hosts it and the database requests are stored in, and an email provider that delivers the messages. They act on our instructions and do not get your details for anything of their own. We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
A request and the correspondence around it we keep for two years, so we can pick it up if you come back to it or if something goes wrong with a supplier. Click records we keep for two years as well, which is long enough to see a seasonal pattern. Ask us sooner and we will delete your request before any of that.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to it, or receive it in a portable form. Email privacy@packman.example and we will answer within a month. If we have got something wrong, you can complain to the data protection authority in your own country.
We have nothing to ask for consent for, and nothing here is an automated decision about you. The sustainability score is worked out from supplier data, not from anything about the person reading it.
Changes
When what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no archive of earlier versions yet.
